What Steak To Eat, Filet Or Flank?

What Steak To Eat, File Or Flank? Not only is beef very tasteful its also an important component for building muscle because its so high in quality protein.

We all love that juicy and tender filet mignon taken from the tenderloin region of the beef cattle. Its round and red and you don’t see any fat. Then you have the flank steak taken from the side of the beef cattle. Its much cheaper and if you are not careful its easy spoiled if not prepared properly.

You would think the filet is better but the truth is the flank steak has much less fat than the filet. The filet has around 20 grams total fat of which 8 grams is saturated fat and 74 mg of cholesterol per 4 ounce.

The flank on the other hand has only 8 grams total fat of which 3 grams is saturated and 39 mg of cholesterol per 4 ounce.

So the flank steak is clearly a better choice even if you are on a low carb diet its best not to eat filet too often because of the large amounts of saturated fats and cholesterol that can contribute to cardiovascular disease.
